Dr. Debora Esty

Debora M. Esty, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who has over thirty years working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings.  Deb received her Bachelor’s from The College of Wooster in 1989, her Master’s in Community Counseling from Loyola University of Chicago in 1994, and her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from The University of Akron in 2006.  In addition to seeing people at Royalton Psychological Associates, she is a Professor in the Psychology Department at Baldwin Wallace University.  There, she also does research in the areas of multiculturalism and eating disorders, particularly looking at the intersection of discrimination/trauma and eating/restricting.  In practice, she has primarily worked with individuals who struggle with eating disorders, as well as trauma, anxiety and depression.   Deb works collaboratively with clients, believing people are often doing the best they can with difficult situations.  Additionally, when working with clients with eating disorders, she works as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, making sure that physical and nutritional needs are a part of the focus.
