Dr. David Disabato
David Disabato, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who treats a variety of emotional disorders, including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, etc. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from George Mason University outside Washington, DC followed by post-doctoral studies at Kent State University here in Northeast Ohio. During post-doc, he researched causes of emotional disorders in the aftermath of traumatic events. Dr. Disabato enjoys working with adolescents and young adults as they navigate not only distressing symptoms, but also their identity, friendships, purpose in life, self-esteem, romance, spirituality, etc. to create a life worth living. He uses a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) principles to foster psychological change that will stay with a person long after therapy ends. Regardless of the approach, Dr. Disabato places empathy, compassion, and authenticity at the center of his therapy. When not working, he likes spending quality time with his wife, playing tennis, running outside, and doing epic board game nights.
